Peppermint Bark Oreos

Image
Peppermint  Bark Like a holiday miracle, peppermint bark first appeared on candy counters in the 1960s. Peppermint has since been proven to stimulate brain activity, improve memory, and help you relax. Thus, peppermint bark is the perfect treat for those pre-holiday exams! In October 2019, Nabisco released Peppermint Bark Oreos. Will they power us through the holiday season? Let's find out! We are B and V and WE RATE OREOS!  Flavor Creativity B-  I vote Yes to creativity. You'll see peppermint bark pieces sprinkled on top of the whipped cream on drinks or after cookies have been rolled out and cut but not usually a cookie that turns itself into the bark!  V- I say it's creative! Peppermint bark is a complex treat. You need to get the balance of white chocolate, milk chocolate, and peppermint just right. It was bold of Oreo to pack three big flavors into a little sandwich cookie. If done well, this could truly be special!  Flavor Execution V-  It's d...

Marvelous Maple

Image
Maple Magic Sweet, sweet maple! Centuries ago, Native Americans first harvested maple trees for their  sugary sappy insides. Early settlers experimented with maple as a potential cough syrup, energy tonic, and cure for pesky kidney problems. Today, maple remains a cherished North American staple. Nabisco released Maple Creme Oreos in August 2019. Will these cookies heal your ailments and, most importantly, are they delicious? We'll see! We are B and V and WE RATE OREOS!  Flavor Creativity V-  They have a creative spark! As the leaves change and the crisp fall begins, maple syrup, maple cookies, and even maple ice cream dominate the dessert scene. The maple creme, however, is something special. While the cookies are a complimentary vanilla, the maple insides give traditional maple flavoring a unique texture and extra sugary flavor profile.  B-  Maple is in a lot of breakfast foods - here's looking at you, syrups and cereals - so it's not a novel fl...

Mint To Be

Image
Mint to Be Who doesn't love Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream? We have Marilyn Ricketts, an English culinary student, to thank for inventing this delightful flavor in 1973. Originally called "Mint Royale," Ricketts' creation placed at a competition to provide a new ice cream flavor for Princess Anne's wedding at Westminster Abby. In continuation of Ricketts' creative spirit, Nabisco released Baskin-Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip Oreos this August 2019. Would these cookies meet royal standards? We'll find out! We are B and V and WE RATE OREOS! Flavor Creativity B- Mint is a classic flavor. The ice cream flavor - not so much. At least in a non-ice cream dessert. V- So creative! I see mint chocolate chip everything, but mint chocolate chip ice cream is something special. Flavor Execution V-  It's very good! It tasted a little more like a Thin Mint than creamy Baskin-Robbins ice cream, but they had lovely bits of chocolate and mint in the creme tha...

Latte Love A little espresso and steamed milk are a sure equation for energetic bliss. Lattes are both delicious and a unique creative outlet. The Latte Art World Championship, U.S. Latte Art Throwdown, and Japan's Matcha Latte Art Competition are just some events where the latte world's most creative minds show off their masterpieces! In July 2019, Nabisco released Latte Oreo Thins as a permanent edition to the Oreo family. Will these cookies warm our souls and get those creative juices flowing? Let's find out! We are B and V and WE RATE OREOS!   Flavor Creativity B- Yes, full points.  V- Definitely creative! They are not just coffee or mocha flavored, but latte. I don't see this flavor often in non-liquid desserts! Flavor Execution V- The flavor is well-executed. I can taste the milk and the creme overall is just a little sweet. It compliments the chocolate cookies perfectly! My only regret...these should not only come in thins. I wish I could get regu...
