Red, White, and Blue

Olympic Spirit
In June 2020, Nabisco brought out the spirit of the Olympics with their red, white, and blue creme Oreos with celebratory cookie designs. We have to wait a little longer than anticipated to watch the events live (awkward), but you can start building the hype now with a little help from milk's favorite cookie. In the spirit of global solidarity, healthy competition, and friendship, we sincerely hope you enjoy them. We are B and V and WE RATE OREOS!

Theme Creativity
B- Just what America needed after the postponement of the games. I appreciated the celebratory throwback (or forward?) and remembering former Olympic excitement amidst all this present-day chaos. There are still good things coming out - like cookies - and good things coming up again - like superhuman athletic demonstrations!

V- The red, white, and blue creme Oreos are just three solid layers of standard filling between chocolate sandwich cookies. The theme is what makes them special. I appreciate Nabisco celebrating the fun of the Olympics and getting us excited for the upcoming games. Since the events are scheduled to take place in Tokyo, it would have been extra dope if they had showcased a local flavor!

Theme Execution
V- The Olympic Oreos taste like athletic glory! With three layers of creme, they are a commitment. However, the world trip scratch-off sweepstakes might not be in our best interest for a while still!

B- I'm still pretty jealous that my box didn't come with a sweepstakes scratch-off but oh well.  Nabisco did a good job executing the theme nicely.  The colors made for good country representation and then the ring graphics made for good games representation.

Does it Sparkle?
B- Oreo receives the gold! It is a very pretty looking cookie. The colors are very vibrant.  And you can see each individual layer equally. They didn't dye my tongue blue either.  That I know of...

V- Perfect 10! The red, white, and blue layers each present themselves in bold glory as their own separate entities. How are they not a weird purple color? The cookie art is beautiful. Clear and crisp lines portray the U.S.A. flag over the interlocking rings. The real cookies actually look as awesome as their picture on the packaging!

Pairing
V- With three layers of creme, expect a pure sugar explosion. Look for teas and alcohols with warm spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to both temper and complement the Oreo’s intense singular flavor. Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey could be a fun pairing!

B- These are a fairly hearty cookie with triple the usual cream filling. I got boring and paired them with water so I could fully appreciate them.  I also tried the red, white, and berry Smirnoff (21+ only) in order to pair as many patriotic things as I could in one sitting. Maybe a cold lemonade would work? I'm feeling very stereotypical. But I dig the cinnamon suggestion above to make for an overall "cinnamon sugar" experience.

Buy Again?
B- I would totally buy them again if I didn't eat them so fast the first time and wasn't wedding dieting.

V- Yes! There is a trip around the world for 2025 calling my name! Think of all the Oreos I could experience!

Final Thoughts
V- These are just super extra versions of the classic. So good!

B- YES. Just YES.
